Vacon’s work is delightfully executed pop art, yet with an Ironic twist. His visually strong and often humorous work pokes fun at all elements of popular culture, from multi-global companies to celebrity culture. His strange and wonderful work is for sale or viewable here

Simply put, this is the greatest documentary I’ve seen in a long time, it’s a personal favorite now alongside Dark Days.
A friend recommended this to me, so without really paying to much attention at first I gave it a watch. Within the first 20minutes I was totally engrossed in the characters and the story, the people in this are brilliant and really, really make this a brilliant watch. I’ve discussed this with friends and it could almost be a mocumenatry, it has this Brass Eye/Garth Marenghi’s quality to it. A must see, more info here.

Ever since I was introduced to version 1 of this app nearly 2 year ago I’ve been a massive fan, it is brilliant, keeping all your fonts in order on a mac. When I saw they were launching a new verison I couldn’t wait, they have managed to make a great app even better, check it here.
Alongside this great app is the logo, which on first impressions wasn’t to sure about, but now like it, with the new colours it’s also a lot esier to find in my dock! Check out the logo design process here. Really interesting to see the design process of a very talented designer.
Really nice animation outling the start and growth of the internet.
Great flickr set of film end credits
Not totally sure what this site is trying to achieve or sell, I just think the interface and the concept is pretty class, see fro yourself here.
Now I think that specific murial is a bit much, but I truly love the idea of this company and the range of wall murials and blinds that are on offer. Have a peek here.
Could this be a exert from the forthcoming Transformers movie!?! Probably not, but still very slick.
This you have to see, check out more pics here. When I look at this I’m toally in 2 minds, at first I think, how could you do that such an amazing/expensive car!?!? But then, on closer inspection, the artwork is slick and has been done brilliantly. Would you?
This is a bit good, probs a bit old now and seen by the masses, but worth commenting on the imagination of these guys, amazing! Check more here.
Awesome little articles to read here. Time have made the top 10 of everything from 2008, from the rough to the smooth to the darn right odd, like the first Second Life divorce, read here, the pregnant man, found here. But then how credible can these lists be if they place Wall-E as the best movie and Speed Racer 9th!?!
After a fairly hectic 2 weeks i’ve finally got chance to sit down and properly post about my activities. So here’s what has been going on…
First off I’ll start with the course I attended down in london, more details here. For a beautiful web, hosted by Andy Clarke and Guest speaker Brendan Dawes. What an inspiring day, these guys have so much energy and passion for what they do and have great knowledge to pass on. They have stuff all over the net worth checking, so get scanning. I was lucky enough to have Brendan come into my uni to talk about his work years and years ago, and a project that stuck with me with his cinema redux, you can check it out here and here.
During the course we were talking about sources of inspiration, here Andy Clark mentioned The Watchmen, something I was aware of but never read, I was more of a Batman fan, but Andy implored everyone to go out and read it, and I can honestly say that I think it’s ace and would forward the advice to check it out. Also check out the movie trailer here. When I first watched the trailer I was very skeptical, but after reading the graphic novel I really can’t wait.
The last thing I’ll finish with was music, everyone agreed that music played a large part in their personal work, and I know it plays a massive part in my creative process. So here are a few tracks, RjD2, always been a fan and only just realised it’s his track from the beginning of Mad Men. John Copper Clark, a Manchester based poet who influenced people like Joy Division and finally track by Visioneers off the Science Fiction Jazz volume 10 compilation. Enjoy

British architect Zaha Hadid sets forth on another impressive piece titled Space Bar.
This is mental, just imagine popping down to George Jetson’s local for a quick jar and then to infinity and beyond.

For those who missed the “Hope” and “Progress” posters created by artist Shepard Fairey in support of Presidential hopeful, Barak Obama, Fairey created a special PDF file recently. Based on the “Progress” poster, the black/white DIY paster (small version of poster) measured at the standard 8.5″ x 11″ dimension. Best of all, Fairey encourage people to download, print, and show their support. The paster PDF (editable in illustrator) can be download through here >>Obey print.
Four years ago Time photographer Callie Shell met Barack Obama backstage when she was covering presidential candidate John Kerry. She sent her editor more photographs of Obama than Kerry. When asked why, she said, “I do not know. I just have a feeling about him. I think he will be important down the road.” Her first photo essay on Obama was two and half years ago. She has stuck with him ever since.
